Hello! My name is Katie Salladay. I am originally from Romeo, MI (one hour north of Detroit). I attended Grand Valley State University, where I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. I have been teaching at Vestaburg for 17 years now. I was hired as a Title One teacher and stayed in that position for two years. Then I taught first grade for nine years and am now back in Title One! I live with my husband, six-month-old chocolate lab (Stetson), eleven-year-old son (Braden), and nine-year-old daughter (Kamryn) near Lakeview. I love the outdoors, gardening, sports, and being at my family's cottage.
I am so excited about this year and all of the new adventures, learning, and fun that will take place! I will be working with kindergarten through fourth grade students in language arts. There will be small groups of students in my classroom each day. We will work on letters and sounds all the way up to reading, discussing, and writing about novels.
